How can we help?

Answers to what people ask most, and how to reach a person. We usually reply within a day.

Getting started

How do I start recording fast when I’m pulled over?

Set up a hands-free start once: Siri (“Hey Siri, Invoked go live”), the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro and newer, a Lock Screen control, or Back Tap. In the app: Account, then Faster start. Recording keeps going with the screen off.

Do I need an account?

No. You can record, keep your recordings and read your rights without one. An account on your phone adds a lock (Face ID or a password).

Does it work without a signal?

Recording does, and so do transcripts made on your phone. Sentinel, cloud transcription, backup and anything you send need a connection; they’ll wait until you have one.

Your recordings and privacy

Where are my recordings kept?

On your phone, encrypted by iOS and kept out of iCloud backups. They leave it only if you share them, back them up (encrypted with a code only you have) or ask for cloud transcription.

What is Sentinel?

An optional feature that reads the words of your recording (never the audio) and points out moments worth a lawyer’s look. It asks first, and you can turn it off in Account.

How do I delete everything?

In the app: Account, then Delete my account. That deletes everything on your phone and asks our server to delete your packets, backups and requests. You can also delete all recordings without deleting your account.

Purchases

How do I cancel my membership?

Memberships are billed by Apple. On your iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, then Invoked. Your recordings stay yours if you cancel.

How do I get a refund?

For a membership, ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. For a packet or other one-time purchase paid by card, email support@invokedapp.com within 30 days if it didn’t arrive, won’t open, or you were charged by mistake.

My evidence packet email didn’t arrive.

Check your spam folder first. Then open the case in the app and tap Email it again, or write to support@invokedapp.com with the email address you used.

The law

Is Invoked a law firm?

No. It records, organizes and points out what may matter, and writes letters for you to send yourself. It doesn’t give legal advice, and using it doesn’t make anyone your lawyer.

Is it legal to record the police?

In most places, yes: federal appeals courts across the country have recognized a right to record police doing their jobs in public, as long as you don’t interfere. Some states require everyone’s consent to record a private conversation. The app shows the rule for your state.

Who checks the legal information?

In the app: Account, then How our legal information is checked. It shows which states’ rules have been reviewed by a licensed attorney, and when.

The details are in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
