In short
- Invoked is not a law firm and doesn’t give legal advice. It records, organizes and points out what may matter. Only a lawyer can tell you whether something was lawful.
- You stay in control. You choose what leaves your phone, and you send your letters yourself.
- Your safety comes first. Follow lawful police orders and the recording laws where you are.
- Memberships renew through Apple until you cancel. Card purchases are one time and never renew.
- Attorneys are independent. They pay a flat fee to be listed, never per case, and what they pay doesn’t change their place in the order.
This summary helps you find your way. The full terms below are what apply.
These terms are an agreement between you and Invoked LLC (“Invoked,” “we,” “us”). They cover the Invoked app, our websites and server, and everything you buy through them. Attorneys who list with Invoked also agree to Part B. By using Invoked you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Invoked.

Part A · Everyone
1. Invoked is not a law firm
Invoked is software. It isn’t a law firm or a lawyer, and it doesn’t give legal advice. Using Invoked doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship with Invoked or with anyone who works for Invoked.
Everything Invoked tells you about the law is general information to help you understand your situation and act on your own. That includes your rights, what to say, findings, letters, guides, deadlines and state rules. It may not reflect the latest changes in the law or the facts of your case. Laws differ by state, county and city, and courts decide how they apply.
Our legal content is checked and updated over time. The app shows when it was last checked and whether an attorney has reviewed it (Account › How our legal information is checked). For advice about your own situation, talk to a lawyer licensed in your state.
2. Sentinel and other automated features
Sentinel™ and Invoked’s flagging engine read transcripts and point out moments that may matter, like a search without consent or a question that was never answered. They can miss things, mishear words, mix up who said what, and flag things that turn out to be lawful. A finding is a starting point for you and a lawyer. It is not a conclusion that anything was unlawful.
Transcripts are made by software and can contain mistakes. Check them against the recording before you rely on them. Sentinel uses AI from Anthropic; our Privacy policy explains exactly what is sent and when.
Crash alerts, reminders and other alerts are conveniences. They may not catch every event. Invoked doesn’t call 911 or any emergency service. In an emergency, call 911 yourself.
3. Your safety and the law where you are
Never let recording or using Invoked put you or anyone else in danger. Follow lawful orders from police, keep your hands visible, and don’t physically resist, even if you believe a stop is wrong. Nothing in Invoked is a reason to argue with or resist an officer. Raise it later, through a complaint, a lawyer or the court.
Recording laws differ. Some states require everyone’s consent to record a private conversation, and some places limit how close you can be to police while recording. You are responsible for following the law where you record, and for how you use and share your recordings.
Don’t handle your phone while driving. Start Invoked hands-free (with Siri, the Action Button or Back Tap) or before you drive.
4. Letters, deadlines and reminders
Invoked writes letters for you to review, edit, sign and send yourself: footage and records requests, complaints, ticket and tow contests, and accident letters. Invoked doesn’t send, file or deliver anything for you to a court, agency, police department, insurer or tow company, and it doesn’t represent you.
Before you send a letter, check that it’s accurate and complete. You are responsible for what it says, and for sending it on time in the way the recipient requires.
Deadlines, waiting periods and dates in Invoked are estimates, based on what you entered and the general rules we have. Confirm them with the court, the agency or a lawyer. Reminders and weekly check-ins are a convenience and can fail, for example if notifications are off or an email is filtered. Invoked doesn’t look up or monitor court records.
No result is guaranteed: not a dismissal, a refund, a settlement, a cleared record or anything else.
5. Your account and your content
Accounts. Much of Invoked works without an account. If you make one, give accurate details and keep your sign-in safe. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account › Delete my account).
Age. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to make an account or buy anything. If you are younger, use Invoked only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission, and have them make any purchase.
Your content is yours. Your recordings, photos, notes and letters belong to you, and most of them never leave your phone. When you choose to send something to Invoked, you let us process, store and send it only as needed to do what you asked, as our Privacy policy describes. That includes Sentinel, cloud transcription, backup, an evidence packet, a request to an attorney, or a weekly check-in. We don’t claim ownership of your content, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
Sharing. You are responsible for having the right to record and share what you send, and for who gets your packet links. Anyone with a packet link can open it.
Keep your own copies. What’s on your phone can be lost if the phone is lost or the app is deleted. Backups are encrypted with your backup code; if you lose the code, we can’t recover them.
6. Acceptable use
Please don’t use Invoked to:
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- record, or share recordings, in a way that breaks the law or violates someone’s rights;
- threaten or harass anyone, or publish anyone’s home address or other private information to target them;
- give attorneys or anyone else information you know is false, or pretend to be someone else;
- interfere with or overload our servers, test their security without permission, scrape them, or copy or reverse-engineer the app beyond what the law allows;
- resell Invoked, share paid features outside your household, or get around a limit or a payment.
7. Purchases
Membership, through Apple
The price and period are shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm. Your membership renews automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel any time in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases under its own policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Membership includes what the membership screen shows when you buy, for personal use by you and your Apple Family. Ticket contests are limited to the number shown there each calendar year, shared by your household. Each ticket counts once however many letters it takes, and the count resets on January 1. Past the limit, you can still contest a ticket at the one-time price. We may change what membership includes for future periods. If we do, we’ll tell you before your next renewal, and nothing you’ve already paid for in the current period is taken away. If you cancel, your recordings stay yours, and recording and your rights stay free.
One-time purchases, by card
Evidence packets, the Settlement Bundle, ticket and tow packets, record-clearing packets and attorney booking fees are paid once, by card or Apple Pay, through Stripe. Nothing renews. The price is shown before you pay, and if it changes before you pay, the app asks you to confirm the new price. These purchases are between you and Invoked, not Apple.
These are digital products, delivered right away, so they generally aren’t refundable once delivered. There are exceptions. If your purchase doesn’t arrive or won’t open and we can’t fix it, or you were charged twice or by mistake, contact us within 30 days and we’ll make it right, with a refund where that’s fair. Nothing here limits any right you have under the law.
Gift memberships
You can buy a gift membership for someone else on invokedapp.com, by card or Apple Pay, through Stripe. The length and price are shown before you pay. A gift is a code. It lasts the months you chose, starting when it’s first redeemed in the Invoked app, and then it ends: it never renews and never charges anyone. It includes what membership includes (above), works on up to 6 phones in the household of the person who redeems it, and isn’t billed or shared through Apple.
Gifts that haven’t been redeemed don’t expire. The person who paid can have a full refund until the gift is redeemed. After that, a gift isn’t refundable except as described above for one-time purchases. A refunded gift stops working. Gifts can’t be exchanged for cash or resold. Anyone with an unredeemed code can redeem it, so share it only with the person it’s for. If you ask us to email a gift, we send it to the address you give on the day you choose. These purchases are between you and Invoked, not Apple.
Attorney booking fee
When you book a traffic or criminal-defense attorney through Invoked, you may pay Invoked a service fee, shown before you book. It is Invoked’s fee for matching and booking. It is separate from the attorney’s legal fee, which you agree with the attorney and pay to them directly, and it never comes out of the attorney’s fee. If the attorney declines your case, we refund the service fee automatically and show you other matches. If they don’t confirm it, contact us and we’ll refund it. Once the attorney confirms, the service fee isn’t refundable.
Accident and injury consultations cost nothing through Invoked. Any percentage is agreed between you and the attorney.
8. Attorneys you find through Invoked
Attorneys listed on Invoked (our “partner attorneys”) are independent lawyers, not employees or agents of Invoked. Invoked shows you up to three attorneys whose listing covers your county or state and your kind of case. They are ordered by how well they fit: the court, where they practice, the track record they report, how quickly they reply and the languages they speak.
Attorneys pay Invoked a flat listing fee for where they can appear. It isn’t paid per referral, case or result, and how much an attorney pays doesn’t change their place in the order. Invoked doesn’t endorse or guarantee any attorney, including their availability, fees, work or results. Track records are reported by the attorneys themselves, and past results don’t guarantee future ones. Invoked is not a lawyer referral service certified by a state bar.
Whether to hire an attorney is your decision. An attorney-client relationship is between you and the attorney, begins only when they agree to represent you, and is governed by your agreement with them. Invoked isn’t part of your representation and doesn’t supervise an attorney’s work.
When you send a request, the attorney receives the kind of case, the court, date and county, your account of what happened, and how to reach you. Your evidence packet goes too, but only if you choose to include it. Don’t include anything you don’t want the attorney to see. Communications sent through Invoked may not be protected by attorney-client privilege the same way as communications made directly with your own lawyer.
9. Our app and content
We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Invoked app on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple’s rules allow. Invoked’s software, designs, legal content and letter templates, and the names Invoked and Sentinel, belong to Invoked or its licensors. Letters Invoked writes for you are yours to use for your own matters. Open-source parts of the app are covered by their own licenses (Account › About Invoked › Open-source licenses).
10. Other companies’ services
Invoked relies on other companies, including Apple, Stripe, Cloudflare, Anthropic, Deepgram and our email provider, and links to sites we don’t run, such as court case searches, official forms and bar referral services. Their own terms apply to what they provide, and we aren’t responsible for sites we don’t run.
11. Changes
We may change, pause or stop features. If we stop a paid feature you bought by card and haven’t received, we’ll refund it. We may also update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Invoked after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
12. Ending things
You can stop using Invoked at any time, and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or use Invoked in a way that could harm others or Invoked. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why. The sections on disclaimers, liability, responsibility for claims and disputes continue to apply after that.
13. Disclaimers
Invoked is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
We don’t promise that Invoked will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a recording will capture everything. A phone can run out of battery or storage, lose a permission, or stop an app. Invoked is not a replacement for 911, a lawyer or your own judgment.
14. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Invoked and its owners, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the outcome of any legal matter, including fines, convictions, lost claims and missed deadlines, arising from your use of Invoked. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid Invoked in the 12 months before the claim or $100.
Some places don’t allow some of these limits. Where that’s so, they apply only as far as the law allows.
15. Responsibility for claims
If someone else brings a claim against Invoked because you misused Invoked, broke the law or broke these terms, for example by sharing a recording unlawfully, you agree to cover Invoked’s reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees.
16. Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem, contact us first. Most things can be sorted out quickly, and we’ll try for at least 30 days before either of us goes to court.
Arizona law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be decided in the state courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, or the federal court for the District of Arizona, and you and Invoked agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where you live. Nothing here takes away consumer protections that the law where you live doesn’t allow to be waived.
17. Apple
If you got Invoked from Apple’s App Store:
- These terms are between you and Invoked, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content.
- Your license is to use the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, and by others in your Apple Family through Family Sharing.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Any other claim, loss or cost from a failure to meet a warranty is Invoked’s responsibility, to the extent these terms don’t disclaim it.
- Invoked, not Apple, is responsible for any claim about the app or your use of it. That includes product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, Invoked, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
- You confirm that you aren’t in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you aren’t on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your wireless carrier’s.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.
Part B · Attorneys
18. Who can list
To list with Invoked, you must be licensed and in good standing in every state where you’re listed, and stay that way. Tell us within 5 business days if your license status changes, including any suspension or public discipline. We may check your bar status, and we may decline or remove a listing at our discretion.
Everything you give us must be accurate and kept up to date, including your fees, the areas you cover, your reply time and the track record you report. You agree that Invoked may show it to people choosing an attorney. You are responsible for making sure what you provide follows your state’s rules on lawyer advertising.
19. The listing fee and billing
What you pay for. A flat fee for the listings you choose. For each kind of practice (traffic and criminal defense, or accident and injury) and each state, you choose 1 county, up to 3 counties, or statewide. Prices are shown when you sign up and in your billing email. The fee pays only for being listed. It isn’t tied to referrals, matches, consultations, bookings, cases, fees or outcomes, you never pay Invoked per referral, and Invoked never takes part of your legal fee. We don’t promise any number of matches, requests or clients.
Monthly or yearly. You pay in advance, through Stripe, when you sign up and at each renewal. Your plan renews automatically until you cancel. The yearly plan costs the yearly price shown when you choose it, which is less than twelve months at the monthly price. Yearly plans can also be paid by bank transfer.
Changes. To add or change your coverage, or to switch between monthly and yearly, reply to your billing email or contact us. Stripe prorates the difference.
Cancelling. Cancel any time with the manage link in your billing email. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your listing stays live, and you keep what you paid for, until the end of the current period. We don’t refund partial periods, with one exception: if you cancel within 30 days after a yearly charge, ask us and we’ll refund that charge in full and end the listing.
Missed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again, and your listing stops appearing in matches until it’s paid.
Price changes. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a new price takes effect. It applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
If we remove your listing. If we remove it because you broke these terms or your professional rules, renewal stops and nothing is refunded. If we remove it for any other reason, we’ll refund the unused part of your current period.
Taxes. You are responsible for any taxes on what you pay.
20. Requests and bookings
Requests come to you by email, with a link to confirm or decline in one tap. Reply within the reply time you set. If you can’t take a case, for example because of a conflict, your capacity or your practice area, decline promptly. Invoked then refunds the client’s service fee and shows them other attorneys.
Do your own conflict check, intake and engagement agreement. Clients pay your legal fee to you directly, under your agreement with them. Invoked isn’t a party to that agreement, and doesn’t collect or hold your fees. When Invoked shows your flat fee as an instant quote, honor it for the case as the client described it. If the facts turn out to be materially different, tell the client before they engage you. Accident and injury consultations are free to the client, and the percentage you offer them should be the one on your profile.
Use what a client sends you only to evaluate and handle their matter. Protect it as your professional rules and privacy laws require, and never sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.
21. Evidence packets
A packet link opens a client’s private evidence: their report, timeline, letters and recording. Treat it as confidential client information. Use it only to evaluate or handle that person’s matter, share it only as far as the representation requires, and don’t try to open a packet that wasn’t sent to you. A link can stop working if the client deletes their packet.
22. Your professional responsibilities
You alone are responsible for your legal services and for following the rules of professional conduct everywhere you practice, including the rules on advertising, solicitation, fee sharing and referrals. Invoked doesn’t practice law, supervise your work or direct your professional judgment. If your jurisdiction requires a disclosure or filing to take part in a service like this, you’ll make it. If you believe any part of how Invoked works conflicts with your rules, tell us right away.
You agree to cover Invoked’s reasonable costs, including legal fees, of any claim arising from your legal services, your conduct, or information you gave us. Listing is not exclusive, and either of us can end it under section 19.
